Privacy: what we store

This is a plain-words summary of what FairwayFlow keeps. It is short on purpose. The Terms of Service cover the rest.

Signing in

You sign in with Google. We receive your Google name, email address, profile picture and a user ID, and we use them to show who you are and to tie your photos and reports to your account. We never see your Google password. You can browse courses without signing in.

Photos

  • Your original is kept as you took it, including any location and time inside the file, in storage only you can read. It is not shown to anyone.
  • The public copy is a smaller picture made on your phone. It is re-drawn from scratch, so it carries no location data, camera details or time.
  • People check. Your phone looks for people in the public copy and blurs them before it leaves your phone. If the check cannot run (for example on a slow connection), the photo is not shown. It waits, in a private place, for review.
  • A photo shown on a course page is public, and anyone can see it.

Reports and new courses

When you report a closure, fix a detail or add a course, we keep what you wrote, the course it is about and your user ID, so a reviewer can check it. New courses can be sent without an account; then we keep the details you typed and no user ID.

Error reports and feedback

If FairwayFlow hits an error, it can send a short report: the build number, the page name without anything after a question mark, the error message, and your phone and browser type. It does not include your name or email. If you use “Something wrong?”, we keep the note you wrote, the build number, the page and your device type. We keep your email only if you choose to include it, and only to write back.

Favorites

Your favorite courses are saved on this device only, in your browser. We do not receive them. Clearing your browser data removes them, and they do not follow you to another phone.

Location

If you allow it, your phone’s location is used to sort courses by distance and to place a report or photo you choose to send with a location. We also use an approximate place from your internet connection when you have not allowed it. We do not save your location in your account. Your browser may remember the last place you searched, on your device only. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs.

Asking us to delete your data

Email support@fairwayflow.com from the address you signed in with and tell us what you want removed: your account details, your photos (originals and public copies), or your reports. We will reply and remove what we hold. Data that is already part of the course directory, such as a corrected par, may stay, without your name on it.
